“Fat Bottomed Girls” by Queen (1978)

20 11 2008

I just can’t say enough good things about Queen.  One of my favorite bands, and I’ve heard a LOT of bands.  Freddie Mercury is possibly the best rock and roll singer ever.  And don’t get me started on their guitarist, Brian May.  We have all of their records.  They are all worth a good listen.

“Fat Bottomed Girls” rocks.  There was some controversy about it, that it objectified women.  But you know what?  I think that’s a crock.  This song is a celebration of women who AREN’T objectified.  When was the last time you saw a supermodel who couldn’t count on her own ribs how many diet Daiquiris she’s sucked down?

If I know Queen, this is just a good time romp dedicated to all of the real women out there.
