“Avalon” by Roxy Music (1982)

11 12 2008

Roxy Music had established itself as a powerful art-rock influence long before “Avalon,” their last album, came along.  I love all of their music, especially tracks like “Love is the Drug” and “Ladytron.”  You couldn’t do better than spend a foggy Saturday afternoon listening to their albums.

But this track, and the entire album by the same name, just swoons.  It’s romantic and sensual and what we need more of in life.  I dare you to cue up this track, sit on an easy chair, close your eyes, and press PLAY.
